ACCESSING YOUR ASSIGNMENTS
Log in to your account.  When you get to the main menu, do the following:

Step 1. Read the list of assignments at the bottom of the page and decide which one you want to work on.  Note that deadlines indicated are “Server Time,” which may not be the time where you are.  At the very bottom of the page, you will see the actual Server Time.

Step 2. Click on the pull-down menu and select the assignment you want to work on.

Step 3. Click on the gray button next to “Select Assignment”

Step 4. Once you have selected the assignment, click on the gray button next to “Practice” (A) or “Do graded work” (B).  You may be given the option to work on it in (A) Practice Mode  only, (B) Graded Mode only, or both.  It depends on your teacher.  In the example below, the assignment is available in both practice and grade modes.  Work done in practice mode is not recorded and does not count toward your grade.  Your teacher will have no way of knowing.  Work done in Graded Mode is recorded and scored 1 point for each question answered, minus penalties for submitting incorrect answers before getting it right.  The penalty depends on your teacher.  By default, it is set to 25%.  So if you get a question right on the second attempt, you get 0.75 points.  Your teacher may also convert your score to a scaled score.

Why practice? In practice mode, the system will allow you to try (without penalty for mistakes) different versions of the question.  It will also explain the answer (if whoever wrote the question also wrote an explanation).  In graded mode, your teacher may turn off the explanations.

NOTE: Your teacher may require that you enter a password to access an assignment.  Your teacher may also require that you correctly answer the last question of a previous assignment before you can start working on another.  The system will tell you in these cases.

Step 5A. Practice Mode. At the top of your screen, you should see (A) what question is being displayed and how many questions there are, (B) a button that you click on if you want to see another version of the question, (C) a pull-down menu that allows you pull up another question by clicking on button (D).  You can work on the questions in any order and use (C) and (D) to go back to any question you have previously seen or answered.  When you do, you may get a different version of the question.

Step 5B. Graded Mode. At the top of your screen, you should see (A) what question is being displayed and how many questions there are, (B) a pull-down menu that allows you pull up another question by clicking on button (C). NOTE: This is the default situation.  Your teacher has the option of requiring you to answer a question correctly before giving you access to the next question.  Using (B) and (C), you can always go back to questions you have already answered and try again.  When you do, you may get a different version of the question.  If the assignment is past due, you will see a message in red that it is past due and when the deadline was.
